You can still tweak it for you own convenience.
For example, I like to totally get rid of the fog in facility. No more green in the background. It hurts the framerate a bit tho but it's very playable ...

The downzsize of the textures worked well, it seem they're the same as in doom.

Yeah I heard about that also, but no one made an easy tutorial about that. I remember Trevor making a post about it but it was very complex.
