As you say, maybe the request for the decompile should be resolved with tools of decompile.

I don't know how decomp works, but is there not a standalone tool that can just whip thru and compress/decompress pre-insertion?

Sorry, I had set the save type to "16-kbit EEPROM".
I changed it to "4-kbit EEPROM" or "Use first-used save type" and ROM started!
