I've been following the guide to playing Perfect Dark online, and I'm stuck at the part where it tells you to download the save file and put it in the save directory. I do so, and when I start the game, it acts like there's no save there. I've tried a couple of different ROMs, to no avail. What's going on?

It could be a naming issue. Here is what you should do. Delete all the PD save files in the save folder. Then, start PD. Quit at the opening menus. Open your save folder. Copy the name of the newly created .eep save file. Rename the PD online .eep save by pasting from previous step. Aside from that, just check the menu for a Perfect Dark Online save. That is the one I created.

I've made absolutely sure that both the ROM name (internal and external) and the save name are exactly the same, and still the same result.

???

Now another very weird and possibly related problem. The game crashes on startup if I put the folder in the Mupen64k directory and select "$AppPath/Saves", with or without the save in it. It properly starts when I put the folder elsewhere, with or without the save in it, but then I have my main problem, which is the game refusing to detect the save...

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Well, I've been able to play PD online, but since the online save won't work, I have to use the default, which means that nopthing is unlocked.

What could be going on? Question

Okay, let me think about this. You likely should, set up mupen again. As in, unzip it somewhere all over again. Then do the game save part, and see what happens. You need to be setting up the save file in the "save" folder.

I'll try that soon.

On another note, PD actually works better online than GE for me... Exclamation
