|
|
When I go through the process to apply the patch, I get into the game and my save file is all jacked up. What it does is it creates a new save file when I go into that game, so all my levels are hidden and its like I have to beat them in order to get to the level that I patched for. It creates a file names "GOLDENEY (unknown rom).eep" and I don't know how to fix it so that it read my Master save file, and not create its own. I even tried doing the byteflipping and unless I completely did it wrong, it still isn't working. Any ideas??? |

Hi and welcome! Unfortunately it's a limitation, mainly due to Project64, although for some reason all of my levels seem to stay active.
Use this code to enable all levels:
80036FB7 0001
8006965A 0001
80069652 0001
80069668 0001
50005001 0000
8006992E 0000 |

You have to copy and paste that GameShark code into the emulator cheats window then turn it on. |

I still don't understand how I can do that. Nowhere on my emulator does it allow me to put in cheats, nor do I see a folder in my emulator directory where I could put those cheats. I would figure I could put them in my Save folder but I don't know how the game would just using them....I dunno, I'm still confused... |

Sorry, I thought we were talking about PJ64. In mupen you need to copy the save file to the new name, or something like that, GE Master can help out there. |

Okay, here is the problem, and yes I will be fixing this on my ips patching tutorial. You need to rename the master goldeneye .eep file.
So, do this. Delete the GOLDENEY (unknown rom).eep that was apparently created. Then, run the patched rom, close mupen after the level loads. Mupen has now created the .eep for that specific rom. You need to then go into the "save" folder and copy the name of the newly created .eep. Whatever that name is, just simply rename the master save file the same. It will work like this. Ask for more help if you need it. Just remember, simply rename the master goldeneye save file to the name that mupen created for that particular rom you are using.
Basically, the problem you are having is because of Mupen .ini file which tells mupen wat roms it will recognize. These patched roms are not in the .ini which is why it creates an unkown rom. I have been updating the .ini file with the new multiplayer levels, not the single player levels. It's a time issue for me.

I will be updating this page with infomation about renaming the .eep file which I explained above. |
