This thing is A GOLD MINE. The weird thing in Aztec had screens!!! Looks like a table! So many beta Bond images on consoles, fog, is that a downward facing light in Bunker jail? Missing glass facility. I feel like many more shadows?

Awesome. I love the spotlights in Silo and Bunker II, I wonder why they were cut? Maybe they thought the dithering looked bad but I don't mind it at all.

For the tenth anniversary of Goldeneye I think the two guys(Duncan Botwood and Mark Edwards) donated the screen shots.

Whoa!!! I hadn't noticed that before! It looks like sort of like the auto shotgun, but it's a gl. I should make a page that has every screenshot and shows every difference.

thanks to Internet Archive i went to Rareware.com and looked at a 1998 page where linked to nintendo.

There it showed the picture. if you look in the left hand corner of the picture in the screenshot it self you can see level editing tools

I guess we now how rareware did it now!

Hmm... Well, from a hacking standpoint, they probably had to cut the lights in Silo because as it is that stage just barely runs. It blacks out in solo if you use run fast enough.
Archives it was probably the same issue. When they added multiplayer the lights were just a little too much. If you notice, in the BZ on four player you'll get blackouts moving between rooms.
Bunker II was probably the same deal, but it does seem silly concidering there's only a few in there. Funny that though. In all these places, they removed the hanging light models but retained the lighting on the clipping map and model.

Hmm... If you've ever looked through the images you'll find the cords for the hanging lights, and each image has a frayed wiring image at the end. Part of the reason may be they couldn't come up with a good way to destroy them or it just looked really tacky. They're neat though. It would be cool to add them back in some day.

Egypt does have very think fog, but you can't notice it easily since it is nearly black. If you set the fog values to white or nearly so, you can probably replicate the image.
Same goes for Statue. The fog in there is about the color of Temple's fog - a light grey with a gradual shift into darkness. Chances are they tinkered with a lot of fog colors until they settled on their final choices.

I'm very, very glad the grenade launcher was changed. Oh! You probably can't see it very well in those images since they're fairly dark, but if you look at the beta KF7, the texture is not aligned properly to the model.

Lots of cool stuff in there. Too bad they didn't plop up a bunch of tazer and old rocket launcher pics.

Beta Comparisons

I've started a comparison page (a pdf for download's sizes sake). There's so many great little changes here. I personally am sad to lose all that cool hanging lighting! And some very interesting other things. Take a look, please help me add to it

Nice work. In one of your caverns screenshots you were asking where it was The closest I could find was right here: http://img232.imageshack.us/my.php?image=luchador0001kz4.jpg
It's in the room after you run up the spiral ramp of the gigantic cavern. Looks like the floor texture was changed and perhaps the space used to be wider.

The walkway leading to the room with the lockers and the shortcut cave is missing.
