The level textures on the walls look way too much like the N64 Goldeneye, just 'dirtier'. IIRC, there's a tool in Photoshop to make colours darker. So it's likely an N64 GE pic, just edited using PS. |

I'm not sure any of it is true. |

That image is a photoshop gargle mash.
1. Guards come from Call Of Duty 1(i believe)
2. The Gun was just photoshoped
3. The whole level is from the UNREAL TOURNAMENT mod. _________________ "I don't know how and I don't know when but my keys have found a way to lock my out agian." - Bishop Allen "Little Black Ache" |

Thanks for outlining it. The source for the background was probably the most helpful.
You know, both parties forgot the absolute best and funniest scenario:
Wii and 360 dual-release! _________________ (\_/) Beware

And they can play against each other online, even if one on wii and one on 360! |

Hah! Looks like M$ took one from Rare's playbook. Unlike Rare they at least don't deny the existance of said rumour. So, what are the chances this is a total hoax but M$ wants to leave their options open? Maybe that was always the intent...
From a development standpoint it seems sort of an odd story anyway. It would be much easier to just build an emulator to run it, much the way the Wii and GC N64 games are run. To that end, the online play aspect is incorporated into the emulator. In other words, you'd be doing something similar to the way Kaillera support works. _________________ (\_/) Beware

I agree. Just have it run in a shell that contains all the XBL features like invitations and voice chat.
So it supposedly came down to royalties, eh? MS always has been greedy... _________________ Pure hand-drawn goodness. |

Nothing personal, but if it came down to porting N64 games, GE would be the least likely to start with. Banjo is in high demand as well, it would plug the new game in development, would be less of a headache, and has far fewer royalty claims.
For that matter Perfect Dark wouldn't be a bad choice either, concidering it's essentially GE without the licensing issues. Although GE was the better seller, PD is not a legal nightmare. Nintendo probably can't control a re-release unless the licensing terms were illegally advantagous. The only red flags would be corporate fretting over a drop in the new PD's sales. _________________ (\_/) Beware

After viewing the Silo runthrough video on YouTube, I have to recind pervious remarks. It seems this really is true. There's no mistaking some of the quirkier aspects of the game. _________________ (\_/) Beware
