I was experimenting recently, and it turns out any setup (including Library and Complex) can be played in Solo on console without the need for a backup device! The method:
1. Hook up parallel port cable to PC & GS Pro 3.3
2. Turn on the uploader codes, with Code Generator ON
3. Go to the mission select screen
4. Press the GS button and go into Memory Editor
5. Search for "SEG" in the text search, the BG/Clipping files of all the levels will show up
6. Find the BG/Clipping files of the level you want to replace
7. Change the level's short name to the short name of the level you are replacing (ex. Facility to Complex means 'ark' to 'ref')
8. Return to the game and start the level you've replaced
9. File->Upload Solo in the GE Editor
Edit:
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten text files to upload correctly. The game crashes whenever custom text is displayed. Note that I'm playing Complex using Facility's setup and text files. |

Uhm, you do realize the editor has an upload feature built in, right? I also made a seperate uploader that allows you to upload the stage just once. Source is available.
To swap out text, there's two options. One is to make a text table and upload it someplace unused (80400100 is a safe spot - nobody's slaved that yet), then change the pointer that normally points at the beginning of that block's text to the new address. _________________ (\_/) Beware
