Remote were great, but proxy and timed I was never thrilled with. Proxy you just mine the whole damn level and then you can't walk around. And timed weren't all that useful. |

Yep. Remotes all the way.
Timed ones were not very useful, as subdrag said, and proximity ones would only be good in solo, but in multi they are really annoying.
I had some fellow player that allways insisted in using them, and kept filling all the friggin level with them, but I wasn't amused and sticked to my ar33 trying not to be blownup.
They were jealous they weren't able to play looking at the other player's screen while could, and I also had a better control skills, so they had to resort to proximity mine chaos to win, and they abused it so much with a kamikaze actitude. |

I never use mines in multiplayer, well maybe remotes... well no.
I choose proximitys, 'cause with thread detector in PD they are funny.

But this poll is about GE, fantsu, and GE doesn't have threat detection... |

Remotes are my mine of choice. The A+B trick is really useful in multi! Proxies are fun in solo, but can slow down multi matches. Timed are garbage (no offence), even hand grenades are more useful. |

Proximity Mines! Just plant those suckers and you rack up the score board! Their also great to play in the level stack because they sort of blend in with the color of the green wall. _________________ An Elevator from Earth; then to the Heavens...

Not really, the silver stands out far more than the green does. I think they best way to hide proximity mines is to throw it on a wall with a lot of bullet holes. Provided they don't fade away by the time someone stumbles onto your mine it can be very hard to tell them apart from certain angles and distances.
Not that it matters, since everyone just mines every inch of the level anyway. I've never played with anyone who tried using proximity mines tactically. |

I'd definately say timed mines simply because they tick. Like escaping before it explodes! |
