Just a little something to tie you all over until I finish up the Library solo mission - an Archives backzone hack.

The biggest problem with the Archives backzone is that framerates suffer big time - I found that the culprit is the attic, so I closed it off. I also closed off several other portions of the backzone and created a map where the courtyard is the central location.

I made use of just about every single object in the native setup file (15 of the 16 panes of glass, 6 weapon sets plus 2 hand grenades, 10 doors, 9 crates) and converted them into mostly plantlife, crates, and bookcases. Being ripe with presets and objects, this made for an object-filled hack clocking in at only 236 lines of code leaving 14 free lines for other code.

PJ 64 tested - 2, 3, and 4 players all loaded (though 4 players lagged considerably, at least on my computer). ALSO CONSOLE TESTED w/2 players.

EDIT - I should also mention that the goldeneye setup editor and the Coordinate grabber program cut hacking time in about half. I used the setup editor for mapping out presets as well as mapping out my setup file. All I actually had to do manually was convert my changes into gameshark codes.

When someone tests this on the console, will you add it to the master code list? I would test it but I don't have a GameShark yet... I probably will get one rather soon though.

I am happy to announce that the level loaded and played flawlessly on the console on the first attempt. I only have 2 controllers right now so I was only able to test 2 players but framerates held very well w/2 players.

I love the plants/trees in the courtyard. I'm not so sure about having the trees indoors. That indoor room is the final room which I worked on, I was torn between either using trees or crates/fuel barrels. The reason I used trees is because they provide some cover for people when they're on opposite sides of the upper balcony.

I was also tempted to use the remaining 13 lines of code to fix the angles of the weapons and maybe custom adjust a few of the weapons presets, but I really see that as unnecessary.

You might also notice (its visible in the screenshots) that in several spots, I used archives moving walls as fake walls (like I did in the library), so there are a few surprise walls and you might get lost in spots. I also used them to block off certain doorways. Rather than lock the doors, I simply modded the distance travelled value to 0 - that way, they behave like walls and you don't get a "door locked" message if you try opening it.

One final comment - blocking the attic as well as the other larger rooms DRASTICALLY IMPROVED framerates. On 2 player, rates never drop below 42 FPS on this computer - I've found that they have to drop below 40 before its noticably slower on console. So this should play flawlessly on console with no framerate issues.

Could you make utilities to instanly put the gameshark codes in to PJ 64? Aswell as the other maps, just like the citadel uploader? It would be a pain trying to input all these codes; and I really want to try all those wonderful maps you have made.

I suppose now would be a good time for me to finish up the PJ64 master cheat file. I will put all the codes into a master .cht file which you will be able to simply download and replace the old .cht file in your PJ64 folder.

I'll see if I can get that finished up in the next day or so.
