Can someone plz help.Im trying to import my hammer level into the g_eye editor and when i try to add the textures it says Error converting
grey_Texture1_.bmp.
Help!!!

Does your textures.txt file have them line by line of just bmps?

A.bmp
B.bmp
etc

After I exported the bsp the map from crafty,i looked in the Mtl.files
and copied down the Bitmaps names and put them in the created Texture.txt file.Am i doing this right?

hmmm...a few things i had trouble with that might help you:

be sure Crafty is exporting them as BMP textures and not something else.
From what i've deduced, the GE editor compares the MTL and Texture.txt files to determine where to assign each texture on the level. If the mtl is exporting them as some other media, the MTL file wont compare right.


Be sure to have .BMP after all the files in textures.txt

also, these are of note:

make sure they are 256 color bitmaps.


from what it looks like, you renamed it. usually a bitmap will read "(level name)_material(or texture)_(number of texture)"

You also can't have any subfolder paths or "s in your mtl file, so it needs to really just be like

map_Kd A33CBE202009.bmp

then in bitmap file, one line is
A33CBE202009.bmp

He means A33CBE202009.bmp is not the same as a33cbe202009.bmp.

Check the file name, and copy it exactly, respecting the difference between uppercase and lowercase.

In otherwords, the difference between a and A, b and B, c and C, etc.

Iv`e done did that i copied the bitmap file name from the mtl file and put it in the text.txt i created here is a screen shotof what i did.

Looks good, as long as bmps are 256 color should be good to go.
