I know it seems like topic spam, but I'd prefer to cover my bases. The title says it all: Does anyone know of any good performance boosts for Project 64? Graphics are almost optional. |

Upgrade version?
I had 1.6 which ran smooth, but was Fraps-unfriendly. Installling 1.7 version of the emulator made everything fine. _________________

I can't get my hands on 1.7, you have to be a Project64 member. |

Windows XP Pro
No thank you.
Yes, but ESPECIALLY Destruction Derby and Goldeneye.
Yes, AFAIK. ("totally legal" sources)
Like what? |

the emulator zone is quite active giving you answers
http://www.emulator-zone.com/
of course you can try project64's own forums also.
It just takes some time to find the best solution, the emulator that gives me the best frames on most games is the old Mupen64k, but I usuallu sacrifice few to get Project64 running, the gameshark support isn't optional for me.
The best soundplugin is definetly Azimer's HLE audio, gives few frames also. But my computer is almost 10 years old, so I always have to sacrifice something.
The most important is of course the video plugin, and that is the hardest also, most of games runs best with Jabo's direct 1.6, but some require new Glide64 and some even Rice.
Check your RSP options also.
The only remaining boost besides those would be upgrading your computer or the video card drivers, and of course overclocking. |
