We always noticed windmill was a drone gun. Well, it works and spins. It wasn't used in-game right as drone gun?

What's funny is that it hit the explosive barrel and destroyed a civilian:

I didn't think that the thing would be able to actually fire. I thought it was only meant to rotate, but it looks as though it really is a fully-functional autogun. We'll never look at windmills the same again... Razz

I've never done it, but I remember a video (on Detstar?) of using a moonjump code near it to float right in front of it, and it blasting away at the player. I'm guessing the pad it's centered on is too far away from anywhere the player can normally get to for it to fire at a normal distance/height. I've noticed the same thing in GE, when I accidentally set the wrong pad or forgot to set it entirely. No matter where it's centered, it will fire at you when you get very close to it.

Now that you mention it, I do remember that video. I don't know if I ever got around to trying it out for myself, though. It's a shame that Carrington didn't increase the windmill autogun's detection range. That last line of defense could've kept those "dataDyne thugs" at bay long enough to call in for more reinforcements. Razz
