Well, with how many of us here are more than a little interested in picking up some sort of backup device that'll let us play our customized GE ROM's on actual hardware, I'd say donating one to you would only help them. You get this thing and give us the thumbs up, that'll mean sales for them. Unless the price tag makes us think otherwise, of course. _________________

Yeah, I saw that too. I'd really like to pick one of those up eventually; I already have a copier, but I don't know how long I'll be able to keep using it. I'll have to get an external floppy drive for this computer if the one in my laptop goes. That flash cart is so much more convenient, and unlike all of the others available, uses a decent storage method. |

Wow, that's great, bmw. It was months since I last checked on retrozone.
They seem to keep churning out new products.
The only downside there is to this is, as expected, that the SNES has too many special chips and lots of great games aren't going to be compatible with the flashcart
Quote: | Game Compatibility List:
# Games that use the DSP1 chip will not run without purchasing the DSP1 option, or soldering it in yourself.
# Games that use expansion chips other than the DSP1 are not supported. |
The NES powerpak (currently unavailable) emulates most NES/FC mappers, though.
This thing for the thes is absolutelly amazing

But I don't have a NES xD |

well well, looks these are going to be some HAPPY christmas for Mr radorn as NEOFlash has selected me as one of the testers for the N64 MYTH cart, and I'll be sent a FREE SAMPLE for the purpose of testing and reviewing
To say that I'm excited is an understatement.
Expect a detailed review.

Wow, that's incredible news, Radorn!
You're probably one of the best people we could possibly have testing this thing out. You'll actually listen to our questions and post all of your findings - both the good and the bad. Your professional review and personal opinions will definitely have an effect on a few of the potential NEOFlash customers here at Shooters. Congrats! _________________

Seeing as I was the only one here that noticed the call for testers from neoflash for the N64 cart (or the only one who cared to apply) even though I linked to the forum, and seeing as there was some talk about SNES carts too, I think I should say that Neoflash is now calling for testers for the SNES cart of their MYTH series (you know, using these GBA/DS flascarts of theirs as storage)
http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php/board,60.0.html
those of you that think you can make some testing and/or reviewing, apply now, before they close the application period.

I'm surprised that they're already selling it, when they've just chosen people to test it. You'd think they'd like to receive feedback on the product before attempting to sell it. Well, I guess not everyone's like that.
That price doesn't sound too bad. It's all going to boil down to the reviews, however. If it's hailed as an excellent product that performs well and meets all expectations, than I'm extremely likely to make a purchase. I've gone without any form of N64 backup device for far too long.
Thanks again for all your coverage, Radorn. _________________

Guess they figure that all of the issues will be software issues, so just update the software later. It still seems like it would've been wise to finish (or start) beta test first to make sure nothing obvious. Ah well. This is the opportunity everyone has been waiting for though - freely available n64 backup devices to play our levels. And if we add tons and tons of sounds and file size gets big its ok since it supports 512 meg. |

Thos bastards at DHL. I spent the whole morning looking at the tracking of my parcel getting closer and closer to me, and suddenly, out of nowhere it displayed a failed delivery attempt caused supposedly by me not being in my home to receive it. yeah sure.
Confused and rather angered I went and asked them what the hell happened.
It seems that they are a bunch of lazy bums and my parcel didn't actually get in the delivery round today, it just stayed in their store/whatever and put that in the tracking system "to keep it updated"... what the hell. Why couldn't they just say "capacity overloaded, delivery postponed" or something like that instead of telling me I was not in my home as I know I was and no one calling?
I was really excited this morning and now I'm sorely disappointed.
Worst part: Due to local festive day schedule, I won't be receiving it until day 4 nor I can go pick it up myself since there won't be anyone to attend me.
on the capacity thing. things are not as simple as they look.
They MAY sell new/different packs of the adapter and a different card in the future, even maybe, some with SD capacity (although I have serious concerns about the performance of SD in this case).
I may be too cautious and maybe even unfair, but I'd wait. |

I didn't say anything, but sorry about what happened with the package. I've never had anything like that happen with a shipping company, but the postal service loves pulling it. They especially like taking nonsensical routes, like shipping a package from Philadelphia (which would be a half-hour drive at most), down to some place in Kentucky, then taking almost a week to get it back up here. My guess is they have some sort of distribution hub down there, but they must fly it down and bring it back up by camel or something.
Hopefully you get your cart Monday, I'm really curious to see how well the hacks work on it (provided GE and PD work at all...that topic doesn't inspire confidence).
As for me, $200 is a bit too steep right now; I plan on buying my parents a new computer as a late Christmas gift this year. I'd probably be better off giving this computer a cheap little upgrade so I could emulate PD a little better, as much as I'd prefer to be playing on the actual hardware. (I was really hoping for something $100 or under; there are DS Flashcarts that sell for less than $20 now, though I guess there's more of a market for those, and they can afford to let them so so cheap.) |
