For some reason I'm curious as to what do people have in their systems in terms of expansion slot occupation.
I myself never really made use of all the slots, not even close.
My next system will probably be some reduced form factor, instead of full atx which has 7 slots.
So, how many do you have in use?
You can also list what cards you have if you feel like it. Don't list models, just type (video, audio, ethernet, video capture, usb, sata, other....)
I'm currently using a old (but not ancient, 2001-2002) PC which is almost full thanks to having collected a few cards from several sources and I plan to make a custom case for it to use it as a workbench system and for supporting old gaming hardware with a win98 os.
It's loaded with
AGP video card with TV out
PCI video card
PCI video capture card
PCI ethernet 10/100 card
and an ISA PC-COMM links card (EMS clone, not the original from Datel)
There is a free PCI slot and a free AMR slot. I'm going to need some modem some time for connecting old dialup consoles (like DC and saturn) so one of them will be going. the PCI video card is probably not going to stay either, if I find something to replace it with. |

no, please, don't count motherboard integrated stuff as cards. only count PHYSICAL add-in cards inserted in a real slot of your motherboard. |
