Yay! I'm Done! Phew, this took a lot of work to create. This version is a MAJOR change from the all preset version. This one pretty-much completley relies on coordinates exept for objects. And I actually put my own work into objects this time, alot of it. Pretty Much everything about this map is exactly the way I wanted it, I love it. Smile I had planned to do some more stuff with the crates, but I think its fine. I just gave a quick run-over of the map and I believe there are no major glitches or wierd things that I do not already know about. It takes a little while to load, in emultor, pausing and pressing play again a couple times can speed it up. There is no glass since I had to sacrifice them for the the Bookcases. I modded all the crates to cardboard, as they are in the Solo version, Threw in a couple tables. I have to thank Wreck for helping me, and because I based off his Archives BZ (although it has been changed alot) Anyway, here it is:

I tried it out earlier and also found a loading problem.
Checking one thing at a time, it looks like the pickups are what's throwing it off. Everything else worked just fine, with no hassles. But when you attempt to start the stage with either the "Armor and Flag" or "Weapons" codes, it ends up crashing. Even after correcting an address error for one of the two armours, it still crapped out on me. This doesn't really make any sense. My only thought was that the room pointers were incorrect. However, after trying to modify an armour with the data from one of the respawns, it didn't help matters. I'm not sure why this isn't working. Maybe I'll give her a look in the console to see, since this could be emulator related.

Worked fine for me, most of the time. I do know however, there is a specific problem with I believe the first armor, as for some reason whereever I put it, it makes the first crate in the large FZ downstairs room disappear. That may be realted to the loading problem.

Update: I guess try removing the armor stuff for now. I'll test this later, I really don't have time until like 6o'clock. Of course what bothers me most about this laoding problem is I can't test it, it loaded fine for me. It might be performance related, for emulators. Consoles may be much less likely to have the problem. Anyway, I'll check into this later if I can. Hoping it does work on console, but I can't test that, gotta wait for Wreck. Smile

I found some time, checked it out really quick. Heres the deal, there is a wierd thing that happens with maps with a lot of coordiates and 1964. It A: Takes a very logn time to load or B: Does not load. Heres the fix, pay attention now: Pause it. Resume. Pause Again. Resume. Wait a little. Pause it. Resume. It usually will start right up after the second pause. I have just tested this, I didn't do the pause thing and waited 30 seconds, didnt load. As soon as I paused and unpaused it it loaded. PAUSE AND UNPAUSE ON EMULATOR! I believe this cuts down load time for many other maps using coordinates also. Therefore, this map should work fine on console, and good on emulator if you pause and unpause.

If you still have the problem, then well, I dont have any idea then, I have no problems here, and I tried it on two different PCs.

While I haven't counted up the total amount of codes, I doubt a GameShark would be able to use them all at one time. If you go over 255 lines of code, the game may not load. If it does, you'll find that certain codes simply won't be on. I'll take a look see in the Memory Editor at just the weapons and armour mods. When I'm finished, you can read my findings in this thread.

Awwww, I was so close. I just counted it up. All the way up to the shelves is around 190. With the serial repeaters, the shelves expand out to 75. Thats around 265. 245 if you remove my first four respawns. Hmmm, quick fix if you want all the crate mods, skip over the first four respawns I believe. That gets rid of my custom FZ respawns, goes back to preset default, which all should be in FZ anyway. I think that that would give enough space for the crate mods. If not get rid of the first armor for one line extra. If you want an Archives Fullzone that is under 255 lines and its respawns and weapons are carefully laid out, play my first version, 1.0A (preset based) although I recommend using this version's objects (shelves and crate mods) with it.

To be honest, making a map to be played on console was never my main concern, nor was it even for being playable, I knew it might just be a side benefit. I made this map to gain experience with coordinates and objects, and I definetley did. I do not think I would ever rely so heavily on coordinates if I were aiming for a quick load and under 255 on the lines. Confused

Anyway, stupid line limit. Smile I wonder if its possible to hack the Gameshark firmware to heighten that limit. Oh well, this map is best played on emulator, hopefully with good Multi play when Project64 1.7 comes out and Kaillera gets better. Err, actually all the feature at the Project64 website says is NetPlay, maybe it'll be proprietary, which could actually be very good, lol.

Another reminder for emulators, pause and unpause. Kcghost Out.

Ok, now I got to feeling guilty about leaving this so quickly and not making a good honest attempt at shaving some lines. SO I checked into it abit more.

I originally miscounted drastically. Last time I did a very rough count, this one is more accurate. 259 lines. Get rid of first respawn and its fine, but if you want space to spare, here is a newer objects. I found that that 0003 thing is not needed, and that I could just get rid of the 0002 line in one of my tables to make it destructable as I had originally wanted, and save a line. All in all, I shaved it down to 238 lines. Which leaves room for other codes like the extras and stuff. Well, anyway, better and improved objects (Shelves):

50000F80 0000
801EA971 000B
50000F80 0000
801EA975 0002
50000F80 0000
811EA976 01E1

50000680 0002
811EA972 27C4
50000580 0002
811EACF2 271D

811EAC72 27C0
811EAF72 2726
811EAFF2 27BE
811EB072 27BF

801EA8F1 0055
801EA8EF 0003
811EA8F6 01E1
811EA8F2 27FF

Use that Objects and scratch the first respawn (first respawns a little useless, preset default is actually probrobly a better position anyway, as it is behind the table) and you have 238 lines filled. Thats with all the crate mods, Enable All Players, etc. That leaves you 17 extra lines on console. Augh, so close to being able to use all the extras, four off. Might be hard, but maybe I can shave just a little bit more later on.

I had tried for a long time to get those codes to work on my Emulator, but nothing wanted to. Even correcting the Plinkdata didn't help. When I have some more free time, I'll give it another go. I'm going to be occupied this weeked. Besides, I've also stepped back into the realm of Perfect Dark hacking just recently. Actually, just yesterday! Wink

I got this to work with only these codes enabled:

Crate Mods
Doors
Respawns
Shelves (the new one)
Level Load
Enable All Players
Unlock Basement Doors

It loads Weapons, Armor, Ammo, and Music without me having those enabled.

That's intense. Figured it all out 4 years later!
The Goldeneye hacking scene has been around a long time, wow.
