by the way, you guys should keep an eye here for LAME updates.

in most cases updates should be compatible with the older versions, specially if they are part of the same series.
Last time we posted in this thread it was version 3.98.2 and current stable version is 3.98.4. just make sure you don't update to alpha versions.
Also, being extra cautious, you may want to make sure the update works before deleting your old version, but there really shouldn't be any problem.
The LAME project usually undergoes very thorough testing for their stable versions, so updating is worth it and mostly risk free.
Don't know if they'll change the command line interface in the future 4.x series, but it's too early for that. LAME has been in 3.x for years. |
