No, they shouldn't, they won't and it won't matter anyway because games are coded to produce SDTV resolutions. To produce HD video it would require to make that console as GC HLE emulator implemented in hardware which is ABSOLUTELLY POINTLESS. That or implementing video upscaling, which is stupid since your HDTV already does that, or you can purchase some professional upscaler if you want superior quality upscaling. |

This isn't directly related to topic, but if you want to play some GC or Wii games with better picture quality you might want to try "Dolphin" emulator, games will look better when you use antialias and anisotropic filtering with emulator, you just need somewhat decent pc to run them though. |

for the record, In the gamecube the framebuffer is EMBEDDED inside the Flipper chip, and it's only 3 mb.
a 1280*720 picture in 24bit color is arround 2.6 megabytes. taking into account that the cube doublebuffers and also uses z-buffering, there's just no way to fit HD in the framebuffer, and since you can't upgrade it because of it being part of another chip, there's no "addon" that will give the Gamecube compatibility with HD video.
I suggest you try to inform yourself a bit instead of jumping out to stupidity like this, acting like you know everything and saying "nintendo should do this and that". At best you should have made it a question like "would it be possible to make an HD addon for GC?", instead of this nonsense. |
