this is definitely something I'd like to see, old thread or not, sorry to bump.  but with PD XBLA out, this would be amazing! I've been thinking of trying myself, in fact.
basically I'd rip the controllers apart, and wire the n64 buttons to the 360 controller's buttons. maybe replace the joystick on the n64 controller with a 360 joystick, to make it easier than having to convert the signal from the original into the correct data for the 360 controller.
then stick the 360 controller in a pretty box, stick a couple buttons on it, mainly for controller bootup, and bam.
but I'd love to see someone else do it before I attempt it! |

I dont think its possible. The Xbox has way more buttons than the standard N64 controller.

Yeah Spyster's right on this, not to mention it would need compatibility on the software's end.
