I'll go against the grain and be cautiously optimistic. There is potential, provided they do it right, for a really fun game to come of this. It's stupid getting all worked up about how much it's going to suck before we even have any real details about it. |

I agree with the post above me...
All right , lets see here guys. Activision required the 007 rights about 3 years ago, almost 4. They only made Bond game so far, Qauntum of Solace, and it was mediocre/generic at best, no quality at all put into it.
Activision probably realised that the james bond franchise is very un-popular in the video game world, so they probably got to thinknig, and were like, how can we make alot of money with the bond license we purchased a few years back ??? and I bet you that somebody at activision said, GOLDENEYE ! because , goldeneye still has a huge community around it, like the one here, and still has a huge fanbase, and seriously guys, do you blame activision ? they know that if they slap the word goldeneye on the cover, it will sell like hotcakes.
I actually have high hopes for this game guys, think about it, look how rare completely just flopped with perfect dark xbla on xbox live, the online setup was a complete joke, and all they gave us was a quick match option, so I'm actually kind of glad RARE and Microsoft have nothing to do with this goldeneye, who knows guys, it looks like nintendo is getting their head on straight finally, they are adding voice chat support on wii online, so u dont need friend codes anymore, it looks like nintendo is becoming more like they used too, and maybe this goldeneye wii will be awesome...
i understand why some of u guys are worried about this game, but seriously look how bad call of duty is, and halo, battlefield, none of those games have any substance, and they are all the same, they suck...this goldeneye game could be the next step in fps's...have hope guys, i cant wait to see what nintendo has up their sleeves with this game, because honestly, its a wii exclusive, so something about it must be sweet. _________________ call of duty is thrash, it takes no skill and is a noobs paradise...if you play modern warfare 2 your a complete moron. |

Well, it can't be bad if they try, but still.
They will just try to make some money out from Goldeneye name doing just what they did with QoS too. They added GE maps in that one and it was complete trainwreck on every aspect(no offense wreck). It is going to be an terrible game, that is for sure.
Still, there is few good things in this one also.
Firstly it might revive some people playing more the original and bring us few interesting members.
Second: We might get few new ideas from that when editing original GE and PD.

I vow to remake Goldeneye if this one sucks.

Published. The poor Wii version of Quantum (can't say if any other versions are any better, but the Wii version was terribly unoptimized for the platform, even if it did have great controls) was developed by Beenox. This new GoldenEye game is being done by Eurocom, who did TWINE and the PS2 version of Quantum among others. Now TWINE is a touchy subject around here, but I think we can all agree that there was definitely some potential there - that they did a nice job of attempting to clone GE's gameplay - and with a little refinement it could have been a much better game.
If this is a remake, utilizing the original maps but with modern FPS features I don't think I'll like it too much. Especially not if it plays like Quantum, where you got locked in a room until all of the enemies were dead, then the doors opened... But if it's a clone of GE's gameplay with motion-based controls and some new things worked in, such as Quantum's stealth mechanic, I could definitely see myself enjoying it even if it's not 100% true to the original. We'll just have to wait and see. |

For me, there are two scenarios that could possibly happen.
1) "Wii GoldenEye" is pretty much using the level design/weapons/ideas from the N64 version, and basically using the N64 version as a selling point for it.
2) It's a total remake of the game, including levels that didn't make it in Rare's version. Some N64 version elements are retained, but it is a "new" game from the ground up.
In a nutshell, if they make "GoldenEye" into a poor clone of the N64 version, then that would be a bad thing. If however they (Activision) make it their own and add some new levels and scenes - such as the Q-Lab/Casino/Meeting Jack Wade etc, then it may possibly be worth the effort to give it a go.
I guess time will tell... |

i agree 100 %, couldnt say it better myself, twine was under-rated, not as legendary as original as goldeneye, but it definetely is the 2nd best bond game , and it actually was a good fps on the n64...but yeah ur post is good _________________ call of duty is thrash, it takes no skill and is a noobs paradise...if you play modern warfare 2 your a complete moron. |
