Rise! RISE! ITS ALIVE! MWAHAHAHAHAH! I used google cache and the Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive to download as many goldeneye-related gscentral pages as i could. Please try to view these in offline mode or something, as the one from th wayback macine will try to download images from well, the wayback machine, and its best not to give that much traffic to them. I have forum threads downloaded from gogole cache as well as most of the code pages, including the thread about citadel where everyone s**t thier pants, all the way up to page 8. Google Cache Stops there, and I didnt bother with the Wayback Machine on the Forums Pages. Ill be adding codes to my Master Gameshark list from these caches.

Here is the link for Goldeneye. The codes don't look too bad. Although there are a bunch of codes that aren't universal (i.e. "Invincibility Dam" instead of just Invincible.) It makes the list longer, which might make it look better than it really is. |

I knew I could find this topic again. I just realized something today, when I had made this cache collection, I hadnt bothered to look into the archive pages, The arcihve pages are all text, BUT I believe they are all acached by google as of Novemeber 25th, 2005. The Wayback Machine does not have the page. However, there is now too much information, its 207 articles! Wait, no, dont worry about that too much, most of the articles are crap, lol. Im gonna try to find the good ones. BTW, the old URL for the archive of "Of Her Majesty's Secret Service" is: http://www.gscentral.com/vb/archive/index.php/f-59.html
Enter it in google and click Show Google Cache. You'll get a big list of the 207 threads in there as of Novemeber 25th, 2005. Oh, and I almost forgot, you just cant click on any of those links, right t click the link, coy link address. Open up a new "tab" or window or whatever means and enter THAT into google, and get that cache too. It isnt too bad, little inconvenient, but if you have a browser with tabs, you can see these old pages pretty quick.
UPDATE: Check Out "Do a little dance, make a little love ..."c |

Hah! That's kinda funny, since I left right about then.
It might be an incredibly good idea to save them all somewhere in a nice, secure archive. _________________ (\_/) Beware

Exactly what I was thinking. I have most-all of the ones with images (not from the text archive) and recently found some more from the Citadel thread actually, but the archive is a completley different story. Its a full backup from that date, 207 articles, some with multiple pages. (oh, and btw, the Citadel thread is in there, but google did not cache the text version, not sure exactly why its spider didnt catch at least the first page of it, but it must have so ething to do with it being 15 pages long, lol) But anyway, back to topic. Im gonna *try* to see if I can get my automatic website saver to work under these circumstances, but the big problem is the cache page does not link directly to the other cached pages as "The Web Archive" does, and the Web Archive does not have this, well, text archive. (Getting confusing with all the different archives, isn't it?) SO to browse this archive as I mentioned earlier, you have to do some copy-pasting with the URLs, but im not sure if I can get an app to do that automatically. Ill update this post if I can or not.
Update 1: Saved the archive Index page and patched in a piece of javascript from the web archive that appends the begining of all links. That part works great, just gotta get my Website Copier to work properly now.
Also - just gonna mention this. I found a post by Subdrag in there that gave a link to a zip file that he describes as the preset data (for I think all the levels), but I could not get a good cache of the link, the file doesn't exist anymore. So im just saying here either you (zoinkity) or Wreck should be able to release that information fine without any begrudgement of SubDrag, as I noticed you both seem to be wary of him. |

We have a great deal of respect for SubDrag and will only release things publically with his approval. Certain files or programs are not finalized and / or error free. Infact, a few of the setup files I received had their first preset decompressed. Nothing major, easy to fix. The zip containing the data was also missing the Egyptian Multiplayer. Many of these things weren't made available to the general masses because only hackers with a deep knowledge of the game would know what to do with them. We're lucky that there are still so many people interested in GoldenEye. |

Wow Wreck, didn't think you would come on this late. ALright, I couldn't update because these forums were temporarily down (whats up with that?)
Im gonna run through what I had to do to get this nearly perfect.
1. Copy-Pasted the Web Archives Script and replaced the append with a Google Cache half-link.
2. After error because HTTrack didnt parse the java, I re-saved the file in a browser and then got rid of the script (thus creating a file with automatically generated google cache links)
3. Then after everything seemed perfect, it still didnt work, Google was giving HTTrack Forbidden errors, I then changed the Browser Identifier so it did not identify itself as HTTrack (I assumed Google blocked Website Copiers for slight traffic reasons)
4. Then I found I had copied too much, and had to delete a lot of uneccesary files.
5. Then the index file was too far in a mess of folders for my liking, so I rose it to the top and had to use a File Substring Utility to automatically modify every link in the index file so it points correctly.
The result is a fully browsable GSCentral Text Archive Cache, with only one semi-major problem. It takes up double the space it should, there is two nearly identical pages for every one, but it doesnt bother me too much since the entire zip compresses allt hat identical information down to a total entire GSCentral cache stuff of about 3 megs.
Because I did this so damn perfect, I dont like my other caches, so I'll probrobly redo those later.

A lot of stuff was never publically released entirely because most of it was just done as an means to an end. The stage dumps were just part of a larger project to figure out stage setups, for example. It was an attempt to parse the object file and figure out the interelationship of some of the other object types that didn't make sense back then. A large part of that was to see which presets were used and which weren't. For a while it could either dump most of the guards or most of the objects. The ones released aren't even complete, actually.
Oh, yeah... The setup file thing dated back to before we used the decompressed samples. Those were stripped by causing the game to lock at a convenient moment. Runway will be missing 0x10 bytes of data - two Pad values - and so it really isn't usable. Most have a huge amount of spare bytes on the end of them.
Next time I'm on I could get you the decompressed stage binaries (full list is too large). If I could get to my yahoo mail I could just give you the address where Sub put up GE's, PD's, BK's, and other Rare title's decompressed files. If you can get in touch with MTFord he would undoubtedly know where it was. _________________ (\_/) Beware
