| I was about to play Perfect Dark one time and the game files menu screen appeared, it was highlighted red, with an odd background, a horizontal gradient, red on top, blue on bottom, and the music you hear when you complete Institute defense was playing. I pressed B and it appeared as if I restarted the game and everything was fine. |

That's probably a controller pack problem.
I've had that long ago.

I never own one but i think its like a memeri pak or a Rumbel pak.

I have 2 of these
And yes, ac67 is right. It sounds like a controller pak problem.
Controller Pak compatible games have a controller pak manager screen that you can access by holding START at power-on. If the controller pak's data is corrupted, they yield an error and offer to reformat it.
PD's controller pak menu is just like you described. |

Oh wow, I thought that screen was some fatal error at first, if I was old, I would have had a heart attack XD. I don't have any controller packs or anything that plugs into the back of the controller. XD

| Yeah, just hold START to access that manu when you start up a game. Works on every N64 game that supports controller pack. |
