I wonder why I cannot use code generator when I play PD with only a Gameshark? If I start PD with code generator, what's happend? |

It's a power struggle.
Both Perfect Dark and the cheating device's Code Generator require the Expansion Pack. The 4mb of RAM can only be used by one of the two, whichever one gets their hands on it first. Since the device picks up on it prior to starting your game, PD won't have all of the extra benefits that it would have normally. As far as I know, it is only possible to hack in Lo-Res mode on console. However, there is a 'trainer' that you can flash to your GameShark/Action Replay, which should let you hack it with a computer. I never got into it that heavily, but have been doing some emulation hacks these past few days. Simple PJ64 savestates, browsing the RAM, changing things in the stage setup files. Artmoney might get you going, though I've yet to try it myself. |
