not much to say. after years of misery, devoid of it's former glory, rare seems to be on the verge of collapse.
I don't really know what exactly triggered the decay of rareware, but while it is too easy to blame ms, it probably started during the last years of nintendo ownership, and nintendo might not be completelly free of blame... But regardless of that, it's quite clear that MS didn't do any better, but, very probably, they did FAR worse.

this may be the end of the company, but for me it actually died about 10 years ago.

Well after almost 30 great games they made, it really doesn't matter.
Been a long time since any good material came out so this might be good thing.

I know that this was going to happen but not this soon.

Man rare was one of my favert gmaeing company.

Back when i was 6 i use to wait forever for there relast there epic games and stuff.

I play all kind of there games Perfect Dark Goldeneye donky kong 64 and lots of others.

Its a sad thing there dieing slowly.

Maybe this year if there lucky they can maybe make a deal with nintendo and MS and all other componys who help make Goldeneye 007 and relast it.

I really think he died just before the N64, the concept of making games change too, I am referring to the gameplay, I think he thinks differently when creating a game and I remember spending hours before a game and even after the past have told me hundreds of times still playing with it, made a lot less that this concept may be the one who does a game to be remembered forever.
note a certain change in rare months before Perfect Dark publish 64, but I can not remember that at that time the magazine announced a conflict within the company rather rare rare with nintendo oo. hopefully recover the spirit of creating games of the past instead of focusing on perfection so many graphics and peripherals.

10 years ago was 2001. Rare was still with Nintendo. They made Conker's Bad Fur Day.

It's a shame to see the company go - I first remember them back in the DKC days. They revolutionized Donkey Kong! At least part of Rare will live through him.

As long as we have Donkey Kong, we have a part of Rare.

They have been rather hit-and-miss lately. Viva Pinata was probably their best post-Nintendo game, and one of few I've purchased. I'd say it has little to do with who owns or is working with the company, but general creativity. Honestly, some of their best games are geared toward a younger audience. Say what you will about the licences, but the Diddy racers are really fun--up there with the comparable Mario racers.

Rareware was a great video game developing company, but I think that people should move on with their lives about it. I mean, I love Rareware and what glorious games that it spawned, but I am not going to point out something that was reiterated a myriad of times. Of course they are going downhill.

No use trying to fix what can't be mended, right?
