Why remove the pipes and grates? they add detail not often found in mulit maps (like lights not in multi Sad ).

I just quickly playd GoldenEye to see Archives and the textures are different, however interesting. I like the marble, its not a "Bright" as the colour used in Goldeneye and makes it more realistic, though again, why would the russians have marble in an interogration room.

I based it off the PD port of Facility, which also moved away from the original texture theme and removed all of the detail pieces. The GE:X port will be a one-to-one copy, though. I'm even going through and making sure the clipping is as close to the original as possible, so that you can still walk through the wall supports and pipes.

Anyone remember this (fake) screenshot from Detstar years ago?

The full Archives level would be perfect in PD, especially with 8 sims!

I never saw that pic before, and it is cool, but I always was excited by "Ark Hives".

Wow. Never saw it.

I feel like making a website like Det-Star adding most of the same features such as sims guns hidden secrets etc. Be really good idea.

I can clearly remember that shot. I actually really liked the colour scheme the faker used on the walls and floors. A full, or even just backzone, Archives would be really fun in PD (GE:X).

Once again; I'm spending hours on the now diminished Detstar through the power of the wayback machine!

As a reply to why it's down, I spoke to Mr. Yamoslair himself over the coarse of a few days..

Where was our conversation:

Quote:
Spencer Chase
Is this the Will Mistretta that hosted Yamoslair back in 2001?

Will Mistretta
Yes.

Spencer Chase
alright, uh, so what happened to the hosting? The $ run out? I'm a Perfect Dark hacker and viewed the site all the time, along with Detstar, which eventually went out a few years ago. I can view it just fine with the Waybackmachine, but the forums etc pictures no longer exist.

Will Mistretta
Just ran out, I guess. I never used the site anymore so I stopped paying for it.

So he basically moved on; I'm sure he has better things to do in life than run an old site anyway
