I have been lurking on this forum for a long time, but never registered. However, I am starting my first real level with the Goldeneye Setup Editor, and one of my goals is to have it be upload-able via a GameShark.

I know that in order for this to work, the most change I can make to the level is to make it Bare Bones, and not any big changes to the basic setup. What I do not know is how to split the level into "Individual" files, to make a file such as UsetuprunZ.bin. Are there any other rules I need to follow to make sure I can upload my level?

P.S. Is meeting room upload-able? I never tried it, but my hopes are not to high, as its setup file is UsetupdepomeetingroomZ.bin.

Welcome to our boards! The rules of uploading are that it can only be a stage setup modification and level's text file change. There can be nothing more complicated (no background modifications, no texture changes, no 21990, nothing fancier). If you are including text from that level, in preferences of editor there is a sneak text before setup which you must check. That looks in your main editor folder for that.bin and uploads it along with the setup you have open at that time.

If you say Help -> Code List it gives you the codes you must turn on for your level (and if including text only include text for your mission).

So for a solo, for example, runway:
"NTSC Setup Uploader Codes"
"stage upload code #100" .off
81000340 3C08
81000342 8009

and if including text:
"Runway Setup Text"
D308C6B0 8017
8108C6B0 801D
D308C6B2 69D0
8108C6B2 6148

Some work, some don't. For example, library mission won't work since it requires 21990 to change around with level is loaded. Meeting Room will work since it's just a setup change/text.

Thank you very much! I will start work on my level soon, keeping this in mind.

Also, one more question:
What are the rules for multiplayer uploads? Can they only be single player levels?

Multiplayer cannot have text. I believe yes, just setup.

One last question:

If I were to do something similar to "Runway Air Show," would it run on console?

As long as you only change setup and text for runway, then it would.

If i understand from SubDrag. You can add any objects in the level as long as you don't change the setup as in 21990? Tell me if i'm wrong please.

And the text. You can change that as well?

Well i never knew you can upload this stuff to a GameShark and make it somewhat playable.

This is all new to me. Including its sad my GameShark broke not that long ago. Crying or Very sad

Yes, one of the features in the editor is that you can upload basic setups to console via the GameShark. If you search for "Goldeneye Runway Takedown," you will find a level that Sub made and uploaded to console.
And yes, text is change-able.

Actually, one day I had tried to upload a Complex test mission to the console with success. It is more complicated to do than uploading, for example, a Facility-based mission, because you need additional Gameshark codes to change the pointers for clipping and bg (which corresponds to the 21990 changes). I won't go in-depth about how to do that here, though.
Also, I think when you're uploading a mission there might be a file size limit, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.
And no, you cannot upload custom maps, those are emulator-only.
