hey everyone

posted this on the pj64 forums, but since the problem is not just pj64, i figured i'd ask here as well...

anyways...

for whatever reason, goldeneye, PD, wave race and several other games I have tested runs very slow/choppy for me in pj64 and 1964. they work fine in mupen64++ using the same plugins.

the VI frequently drops very low... anyone have any ideas?

cpu specs:

intel quad core 2.3Ghz
4 gigs ram
nvidia geforce 8800 gts w/ latest drivfers
windows 7 enterprise 64bit

not sure if this will help, but, check if you have some overlocking, underclocking, energy saving, etc app running.
n64 emus seem to be very sensitive to clock variations in the host system -I had problems with this before- so, while running the emus, try to set clocks/powersaving to factory defaults and see if it solves the problem.

And what radorn said don't some how help.

Set the CF into 3. By keeping it into 3 it will make the game stay stable.

One of the problems about PJ64 and 1964. Is there random choppy frame rate at times.

Now it is best to keep the CF on automatic. But if your having problems. Forcing it in 3 may fix most of the framerate and choppy problems.

just tried CF 3 and 4. unfortunately it still ran super sketchy.

i also do not have any over/underclocking going on, or any power saving options enabled.

Problem may be your GFX card, it is horribly old, and with your setup, is bringing your system down.

I have a semi-old laptop from 2007 with Intel integrated graphics and Goldeneye runs at 60fps using PJ64.

I don't really think it's his graphics card unless his is worse than my integrated graphics. Shocked

Depends...

I gotta say you need to check and see if there is a update you need on that video card of yours.

The best way to know if your Video card is up to date. Go to a Nvidia Geforce website but i'm not sure since i never own a Nvidia Geforce card.

And if its up to date then its most likely something else other then the video ram it self.

By the way you never said how old this PC is.

Then there has to be something else wrong. Its not at all the video card what so ever.

And to tell you the truth. I have no idea why PJ64 and 1964 don't run perfect.
