obviously running to someones location and shooting them before they can move is cheap and not fun...

but you can also say the same for allowing someone all the time in the world to grab a weapon.. i think grabbing a weapon should come with pressure, imo.

now the way i play (ty to th126 for giving me the idea) is after you kill your opponent, you stand over the body or right by it until you see the green start button on their screen.. depending where the kill took place they most likely will have 8 seconds to grab a weapon.. unless the body spawns right where they died and in that case theyre screwed, lol.

so what are others thoughts on this topic?

If the person spawns far away, then I generally will still run towards them because I know they will be armed before I get to that location.

Or if they spawn close by, I usually wait until they are armed, if not very close to a weapon before I will engage in a shoot out. If they spawn in the same room I will just run away or try to slap them.

It was a few European GE players from a year or 2 ago named Myst, Muffa, Evilman and a couple others. They kind of convinced some of us not to play that way. Also GEN (mistamontiel) is another one that got me playing more fairly.

At the end of the day it's just a game and a great one at that. Just have fun with it people.

You could always play maphacks with default equipment. Players spawn then with either a weapon drawn or one in inventory, depending on how it was coded.

You shouldn't have to have a body sit there to tell you when you're allowed to shoot someone. The solution to this is simple - wait for your opponent to be armed, no matter how long you have to wait. It's not an overly complicated fix, and it's how all the rest of us play on the server.

The rules should be discussed BEFORE game.

I'll wait for the opponents, no problem, IF they have mentined that before to me.
Otherwise I go for it asap. No mercy.
Very Happy

The fun is the most important thing. Sometimes it might take on your nerves to get killed before you even got a gun, but that happens to others also.

Even Rare hinted at not killing an unarmed foe by disabling the auto-aim function while looking towards an enemy who only has their slapper out. It's cheap, dishonourable, and that point shouldn't feel rewarding in the slightest.

However, if the person blatantly refuses to draw a weapon on you, or rushes at you with their chopper on full auto, than nothing should prevent you from encouraging them to smarten up with a little bit of lead.
