Actually, I'm like that too. I can play GE but I can't watch it. It's seriously disorienting, especially with circle-strafing, etc., and the nausea is very real. Much like sea-sickness ginger helps with it, but even medicated you can only watch it so long.

One interesting point is that modern FPSes aren't so very bad about that. The gameplay really is quite different, and the point of it being slower is quite true. Early FPSes (from the beginning to when they started 'accurate physics', so to speak) will all set off this response. I believe it's tied to the way foot-speed and rotation factors are calculated. Even faster-paced games like Planetside don't set it off usually, but Doom or Quake...

In the end it's probably going to be found that just like flicker some people are sensitive to certain kinds of high-speed rotation. The response is certainly neurological. Anyone looking for a PhD project should take it up.
(It's probably already known in the auronautical circles, come to think of it. Anyone verify?)

Oh, and on-subject, I've personally met several women who hack FPSes and RTSes. I know one in particular that can probably crash your system right now regardless your OS. Been somewhat lucky in personally meeting hackers; there aren't many and few ever meet outside forums or IRC. Anyway, if you peek around enough you'll find plenty.

The problem is the N64 is a dog system. Nobody hacks the blasted thing. Look at other systems. There's plenty of REs out there. Most just don't broadcast their gender because it is 1) pointless, 2) avoids complications with harrassment, and 3) going to lead to nonsense topics like this one. (nothing personal, but posts in these tend to be cookie-cutters) I don't broadcast mine either.

haha no, I'm not feeling insulted, but in my opinion, I was just doing with GOOD intention, and I repeat, we all could learn from a girl on this site. that would be exceptional, but our job then should be to make her not feel strange. I would never make a girl feel bad. then I would hit myself.
but yeah, I accept the fact nobody seems to understand.
