Okay I have tried quick inject f7 and even changed the name of my setup up file to my default F5 quick convert file and put it in the files folder. How the hell do you quick inject a file into your ROM when the editor doesn't pull up a window for you to point to it's location? Laughing Also one more question: When making your setup file do you just open it with everything the SAME / OR do you change quick convert level to the multi setup you want it to load in? I'm going to need a THOROUGH breakdown because we are obviously on different pages and I'm losing my mind and patience with my ignorance of this newer method everyone is using. Sub when you get this please educate this incompetent old bastard IN DETAIL then I'll hack all 20 levels until it's done Cool MultiplayerX

Sorry for being uuuummm DUMB I'm really frustrated and can't understand what I'm screwing up. Maybe I need to retire from hacking after this because I'm getting too old for my hacks to work Laughing

Set your Quick ROM in Tools->Preferences to the one you edited, not the original GE/PD ROM. It quick injects to + .rom of that name, using that as base.

Also, if you want to inject a multi setup, make sure you use with the mp setup, not the solo setup before injection.

You may want to use project mode instead, save as project and inject project, that lets you pick ROM.

I took yours, made my own mp dam setup two start points only, and injected over Ump_cryptZ, and then it loaded in that egypt slot.

I got it!!!! I changed my setup to STATUE PARK to free up Egypt for another level. NO texture glitches at all with EVERY OBJECT in DAM Very Happy I was overwriting the SOLO setup instead of changing it to the multi was the problem. Now I can complete this mod with 2 patches Thanks bro Wink hmmmmm maybe this will fix Aztec's texture issues when I get to it. The level runs very smoothly this way too. You said it checks the tables this way eh? More accurate?

The way I inject my files to the rom is the following. Note that I haven't made any setups for solo missions or briefings, but I think this works for those files too. All the files must be *.bin files.

You open Editor and do 'Tools' -> '21990 (GE)/39850 (PD) Modification'. Then a window like this one will pop up:

1- Here you load the rom you want to work with. If you are replacing files in the original rom then you don't need to load anything, but if you want to continue with an already edited rom (with custom textures, or some already edited levels) then you must load it first.

2- The files are injected in the 'Stages Options' tab, or at least I only use this one.

3- These squares exist to make things easier. You select a level, then click at the square and the editor will automatically load the desired file in spot (4). In this example is loading Egyptian solo setup, but you can load background, briefing and clipping files too.

4- If you press the arrow you can scroll to all the files in the rom so you can load any file that doesn't load using the previous step (Like multi setups for levels that have a solo version). Solo setups are something like Usetup_____Z, while multi setups are something like Umpsetup_____Z.

5- Once the right file is loaded at (4), you use (5) to replace it, or the 'Save File' box above to save the file (i.e. you want to merge different custom levels from various roms into one; you save the files separately and injected them later, although if those custom levels are using custom textures merging isn't as simple as that).

6- Once all the files are injected you use this button to create a new rom or overwrite it. Always keep the original rom, but you can overwrite custom ones. Keep the *.rom extension at the end too.

7- If you are working with the original rom and try to write a new rom, a message saying that there's not enough space to inject files is sure to pop up. You have to press here to delete unused files so writing a new rom will work. Even adding custom textures sometimes displays this message, so you have to create a new rom after deleting the Debug data and Japanese text, and try again loading this new custom rom.

At the top right corner of this image you can see some buttons to unlock all solo missions and cheats. In the 'Multiplayer' tab there's another one to unlock all multi levels too.
