Ive got latest version of Project 64 2.0 and I cant find some of the settings. Ive tried 3 graphic plugins. Jabos Direct3D8 1.7.0.570-ver5 is what I use often. Mainly the "Check marks by: Large Compile Buffer, Register Caching, SP Hack, Use TLB." Please help. Thanks guys.
Ive taught myself 3D modeling for a few years now and got experience ripping maps and models from N64. Ive ripped from other systems as well like wii. I might be interested in making some of these myself. Ive got some ideas already but first I want to test this patch and get it working so I get a more understanding of everything.
I mainly use Blender for 3D modeling but have little experience in others like Zbrush, Maya, Sketchup and 3DS Max. A few years back I would rip game models from Goldeneye and other games and after some editing and a lot of work make lifesize papercraft models like the mines and RPC90 to name a few. |

As an industry professional: 3D modelling software is more a matter of "what do you connect with best?". Our office uses Max, Maya and I actually stay snuck away in the back room working on Blender. We also use zBrush and Mudbox - it's a real melting pot of different people really so there's no truly "right answer"
I'd be interested to see some photos if you have them! _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

I am by far not pro at 3D modeling lol. Ya everyone has there preference. Learned for some years myself and thought I could make a carrer out of it but its a tough buesness exspeacially with no degree of any kind. Im now a broke artist making oil paintings for people:)
I was a member at a site where we kept all the files and images and the site shut down a while ago. Found one image though and there is some stuff on my old blog if interested.
If anyone can help me get the settings correct in PJ64 that would be great:)

Hi copyman.
The settings you are looking for aren't in any of the graphic plugins options. I don't use Project64 2.0, but in Project64 1.6 the settings you want to edit can be found in Options -> Settings -> ROM Settings.
Those papercraft skills are awesome. Looking forward to your contributions to GE/PD hacking if you finally decide to do it. |

I hope before any of this that you did nab the GE Editor and applied patch to Perfect Dark (U) (V1.1) [!].z64
Rightclick>Edit Game Settings
I forget if under Recompiler needs any config ..

Using Pepakura by chance? I've pumped some models through there before. Excellent piece of software ;*) _________________ (\_/) Beware

Thought it was the emulator but guess not now:) Test on pj 1.6. Went through the steps but I must have missed something. Ill patch again and re-read the instructions.
Yup used Pepakura. Great software. |

I actually made the RCP90 (as well as the grenade launcher) for Goldeneye Source many years ago. I have considered making a better looking version of it since my skills back then weren't super great.
I already made a FNP90 a few months ago and it's not really that hard to modify to look like the one from GE64.
Now i mainly use 3DS Max, Maya, Mudbox, XSI and occasionaly ZBrush depending on the situation. I find XSI to be easier to use when it comes to rigging and animating characters but do most of my modeling in 3DS |

That's some really sharp work!
As for getting work in the industry, you need the paper and the experience...which meant (for me) nearly three years of contract work and occasional "diets" hehehe _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

Project 64 2.0 is not supported OR ENDORSED by the original creator. It has all kinds of issues if you don't know how to use it and adjust settings. So many promises that really don't work. It's a hack mainly to draw you into believing it's better than 1.6 for some reason. Just my advice being around this stuff for over TEN years MultiX |

That RC-P90 looks wonderful! Do feel free to share other papercraft projects related to the games we love. _________________

The 1.6.2 patch for PJ64 imports most of the changes from the 2.0 series into it, except for the ones that simply can't be imported. The 2.0 series is a rename of the 1.7 series which, as far as I know, the dev was a part of (which is why he had the code).
The only real advantage to the 1.6 series is they've had years to write and rewrite the settings files. Try using the original rdb from 1.5 before smiff got to it. Same emu, much worse support. It was somewhat recently that Japanese and English versions of the same games have identical settings and equal emulation.
As far as accuracy, they've closed off some important bugs and are catching a few errors they didn't before. It isn't Cen64, but it's getting better.
Give them some time to work on the rdb. HLEs are so hack-ish settings are as clear-cut as you would think. _________________ (\_/) Beware
