Thanks for the information, very interesting!

I've made a post on the RetroGamer forums (http://www.retrogamer.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=50698) asking if they'd consider writing an article on the GE/PD hacking scene and the existing and upcoming mods and hacks. My hopes aren't too high (they don't tend to cover things like game hacks and similar projects) but I really hope they do decide to go ahead with it. Certainly it could result in a very interesting read, and hopefully draw more fans into the fold.

The clock is not required to play Doubutstu no Mori.
You'll simply be asked to set the time when you start, and the only time the clock is actually looked at is when loading a town (and you're asked to set the time). The rest of the time the N64 is keeping track and will write the correct time to the save file. It will also overwrite the clock's time when saving, though if it can't detect it this step is omitted.

Incidentally, the time KK starts with is the timestamp of the save file.
Claims the 64drive can't play it are ridiculous.

Oh right, I didn't know that (and all information I've seen is to the contrary, it's always mentioned as a game that can't be played, presumably by people who've never tried the rom), so thanks for pointing it out. Can you play the game in English, though, or is it strictly Japanese only?
