Gotta remember that back before Goldeneye (95) the movie which in itself was good. really gained traction with a younger audience when Goldeneye 64 was released.
Coincidentally in 97, Austin Powers also introduced the world of James Bond to a new generation that had not even heard of 007 and helped fuel the bond craze back then.(franchise was more less dead in the early 90's)
Wreck has said numerous times that his project would mirror Rare quality. I imagine if Rare had been given a tad more time and a free hand without copyright deterrents, would of definitely included an Austin powers Easter egg.
Fast forward Casino Royale (2006)
1. Out of the scope of Goldeneye Era\decade,
2. The Movie marked a change in artistic direction and set a new precedent on the tone of bond films thereafter.
3. There was talk a couple of years ago, about replacing Daniel Craig with a Black Actor. ( When does it stop, when will we have the definite "Bond Pack"?)
Edit: Wow, didnt see your post Wreck, Daniel Craig does look badass though, hopefully we can include them all. |

Yeah, Idris Elba is apparently high on the list of potential Bond actors, once Daniel Craig steps down (or is replaced). I really don't care what colour Bond is, so long as he's charming, sophisticated, and can kick some ass (and isn't Orlando Bloom or Robert Pattinson). I think Craig upped the ante as far as acting goes, though. He may not be everyone's favourite, but he does a fantastic job with the role where it stands today.
I just wonder what people would think if they made a new Shaft movie starring Matthew McConaughey in the leading role? It seems more acceptable to race swap one way more than the other. |

The first person ever to play James Bond was Bob Holness, the bloke who presented the gameshow Blockbusters. In 1956, he played Bond in a radio show.
I do agree that Austin Powers would be great for a multiplayer character.
I don't agree that Bond could be black though. Bond was white in the books, so he is white, full stop. Doctor Who can be black, as we've never been told (according to the Doctor Who universe) that timelords only regenerate to the same skin colour (logically you would probably think so, admittedly, but if the best actor for the part was black then you could overlook that), and Spiderman can be black, as long as that Spiderman is not Peter Parker (Parker was and so is, white), and so in the Ultimate Spiderman comics, Spiderman is Miles Morales, a black teenager.
But I don't agree with changing the skin colour (or gender) of an established person (unless there's a logical reason in the story, as with Doctor Who. Instead of changing Bond's race, how about (shock!) making a new charcter, who is like Bond but is black (or asian, or female, or whatever)? Why are so many films nowadays reboots instead of creating new I.P.s? |

I agree with Kerr Avon's point 100%. Bond is an established character who we all know is white. That would be like making a Superman movie with Clark Kent and Superman played by Tyler Perry. It's just not how you type characters. Today's society is too politically correct and that's why you see movies like that female feminist version of Ghostbusters and this whole debate on James Bond being cast by a black man. Political correctness really messed up society and our logical sense of thinking. It's just more of a ruse of political correctness more than anything. That's why horror films later on in the 90s started putting more black actors into the forefront. Horror movies today are even worse political correctness wise.
Going back to Daniel Craig however, if he does make it into the mod, (and yes I love that suit fits him well) I would suggest making that bonus mission level with the player as Daniel Craig's 007. Even though there won't be any of the villains from Skyfall. However, you never know now especially with the newly added space for heads and characters. The level map itself would probably have to be in a casino or something. Perhaps a level from TWINE with Santa Claus as the mid-level's boss. He would be armed with a Double Rudolph. _________________ "The Eye of Thundera, give me sight beyond sight!" |

Daniel Craig would be a good choice considering that a lot of us grew up on GoldenEye and are more in the age group of Craig's Bond lol
Also, what about some villains? I.e. The man with the Golden Gun
P.s. I agree with Thundera about the out of control political correctness. Just be polite to one another and that would fix a lot of things. We didn't worry about PC in the 80's-90's. I was born in 82 so I remember pretty well. Some people would have a cow about some of the things we said to each other on the playground lined up against a wall playing dodgeball haha Hey, ..Dodgeball... How bout a Wilson head from the movie Castaway? Lol jk |

For once I agree 100% with you(and with Kerr Avon as well!).
I hate the way so many established characters are having their race/gender swapped for the sole purpose of "muh diversity". I don't care what skin color or gender someone is, if they are a good actor, so be it but do NOT change established characters to cater to the SJW's.
Back on topic:
I don't see why some people dislike Daniel Craig as Bond, I loved his movies, I didn't get the chance to see the last 2 movies though.
I think it would be cool to include him but I wouldn't be disappointed if he wasn't. |

Well, Moneypenny is black now (and might I add the hottest yet). I know that isn't quite the same thing as changing Bond, but we got on with that change just fine. I had a bigger issue with the new Q, to be completely honest.
Back on-topic, I'm glad people seem to back my choice of outfit for Craig. It's hard to find a tux he has worn that isn't similar to other Bond's already in GoldenEye X. He had a nice white one in Spectre, but Connery deserves to be the only one wearing white (though in Goldfinger he actually had a cream coloured dress jacket). Only so much you can do with black tuxedos. Was difficult enough to make a custom one for Lazenby. But the midnight blue suit should be a little easier to get going. |

Still not quite convinced on the D5K but that's just me. The Shotgun however is a much needed improvement! _________________

I'm not a fan of the new Q... he just doesn't fit... Q will always be Llewelyn to me.
I will forever love Judy Dench as M though.
As for Moneypenny, I didn't like the reboot missing her in the first place. I don't like the reboot so much in fact I dispose of most of Casino royals dialog.
For her role as a black woman, I think Moneypenny was established as replaceable back in GE when she says "As far as I remember, you've never had me"
For those who think of Bond as a codename then they wont care what build/colour bond is.
I love those shots, we can actually make his jacket have the shiny bits, that would make him more unique.
