I have most ambitious map port in the works... I am masochist. Separating this one into rooms is quite the challenge.
I am having to redo the geometry all over the place to get a clean edge.
To be clear, portals should only align on x or y axis, true or false?
Can you have a large portal go through the mesh or does it need to be split on either side?
Any other portals gotchas, tips and tricks would be great.
If this map can be ported in it's entitety I think it will be a real winner. |

The way with the least hassle is along X/Y, checkerboard style, so rooms are not different widths touching, etc, and geometry cannot crossa any portal. Rare did do some slanted and overlapping, and all this crazy stuff...I don't recommend it, you will just be redoing your level geometry over and over. |
