I found this computer:

AMD Athlon 1800 1.5G RAM, 80 & 4 GB HDD, Front USB, Floppy & RW drive NIC card Full tower case WIN XP

The website Micro-64 says:

with that out of the way, you'll need a few things:

Gameshark Pro with working parallel port
Male to female printer / parallel cable
IBM compatible Pentium-class PC, with a parallel port (parallel to whatever adapters don't work well)
Windows 95, 98, ME or 2000 (Windows XP doesn't seem to work here)
One or more corrupted Gamesharks
N64 Version 3 Utilities program, downloadable here

An Athlon like the one listed above is the same or around the same generation as a Pentium im pretty sure.
Would this computer work to if it has the parallel port?

Or do I "need" an actual Pentium.

Probably silly question as I would expect the AMD would run the software fine but stuff wasn't as compatible back then so I'm asking the experts.
I realize I'd have to install Win 98 as the AMD listed says it has XP.

Thank you

I can't be certain since I've never had to find a computer with a parallel port anymore (plus be very very careful attaching that to the internet) but I'd imagine anything that was on par with a Pentium back then and was x86 was fine.
