Can anyone explain why I failed "Assassinate Skedar Leader" even know I clearly kill him and also got the cut scene?

From my limited knowledge of Skedar Ruins and quickly reading the AI Lists/Action Blocks, it should have marked the objective complete before going into the cutscene, so I am not sure.

| The objective fails if you use all your grenade ammo without destroying the wall earlier in the stage. I'm guessing you did the wall hugging trick in the ravine instead of destroying the wall. |
