I was doing some crap on pilotwings and then I used an emulator and found out that, apart from the NTSC equivalent of the PAL codes for unlimited fuel for the gyrocopter and rocketbelt, there were a handful more of codes that my AR had not for PAL. I noticed the equivalent codes were just offset from one another by 0x4168 (i think to remember), so I modified the desired NTSC codes in an attempt to convert them to PAL, and tried them FIRST ON THE EMULATOR.
Since they seemed to work, I went to console and started typing them.
Just when I pressed "save & exit" the screen got corrupted.

Now when I attempt to boot it shows the inital screen with the action replay logo, but after that, instead of the menu, I get a corrupted or black screen.

I am truly appalled.

I got it brand new from Playasia a few months ago and haven't had used it much. I should have bought 2 of them leaving one as a safeguard to make that recovery procedure of mounting one on top of another and performing an upgrade.

I guess I'll have to buy another one then.

Thread title fixed - Skorpion

Yep, those things are finicky. Honestly, you probably can get it booting again if you keep trying. But yeah, they aren't built to last.

if I haven't done that a thousand times I haven't done it at all.

Little after "dying", it did boot into a non functional menu that had no codes nor let me insert new ones or even a game definition.
Maybe I could have attemped an upgrade then, but I powercycled again and now I can't get it there again no matter how many times I try Sad

It'll be back. Try again tomorrow. That used to happen to me all the time.

I hope you are right, Sub, but this is already the third day.

Same happened to my Passport 3, which is a similar device in both functionality and robustness, and it's been months in it's case.

I'll see what happens if I let it rest for a week or so, but I don't think that will change anything.

I've been trying since 2001 with my AR - still nothing! I can't be bothered getting a new one, too!

Would it be possible if you could run through on how you activated cheats on Goldeneye, like the exact process from when you turn on the N64 with the passport 3 in it. I've tried everything and failed miserably. Could you also give me a code that you know works 100% on it. This would be greatly appreciated. (I'm from the PAL region btw.)
