As of right now, we don't know enough about how the weather elements are tied into the level. It is stage ID specific, so only Chicago, Air Base and Crash Site can use them (unless you swap out their files for others). Also, the room numbers are predetermined somewhere we haven't located. If you're lucky, the final room area in Skedar home world may match up. However, isn't there a roof over your head there? It won't stop the rain from coming down, but it may seem a bit odd.
Snow (10XX type)
01B601
0005FD0000
0004
Rain (14XX type)
018B0? (? = 1, 2 or 3 for various effects)
0004
You could export the blocks from Crash Site and Chicago directly, through the Editor. The rain one has various checks that allow it to change downpour and thunder strikes as time passes. _________________

If snowing,
800623F3 0000
or
80062957 0000 pauses the snow. Still not progress on how it knows which rooms to snow. |

Weird code along my travels:
Trigger via memory editor
81208052 0001
Returns Joanna to start of level immediately. It's actually containing the current room, so it's a bizarre thing. |

OK, G5 is one of the levels that rain/snow is loaded for, and it's triggered in the cut-scene. Alas, rain can only be triggered after the "prerecorded fx" action block (01110196 Prerecorded camera: movement, rotation, and special fx info (0196)). It won't actually rain otherwise. |

FYI this has been supported by editor, not sure if realized. You have to use the 39850 editor to pick your snow/rain levels (as well as choose rooms), can have 3 (one's done by special fx block but we can't really use it), then just use the toggle snow/rain effect in action block command.

Also is it just me or do you think seeing rain in the skedar mission would be pretty cool for the final boss battle? To make it seem tense/ evil and so on. |

Hmm, very nice.
Looking at the weather and the ground it would be good if the ground looked wetter.
It could be made darker I suppose.

This is great! I love rain and snow in computer games, as I think it adds atmosphere and a feeling of 'life' that the level might otherwise lack. I hope you decide to implement the weather effects in many of the levels. |
