That album has been updated with some shots of the control styles. Only three, and they're nearly identical. The "Classic" style doesn't even recreate the GE/PD default of having walking and turning on the same stick, so this will be nearly unplayable for me. Nice move.
I didn't even recognize the PP7 as the PP7. That model can't be taken from the GE remake; the GE PP7 looked much better. |

So not one control scheme matches GE? That's unfathomable. |

There's no indication that you can customize them, either. I suppose that "Classic" would be mostly correct, if you always played PD using 1.2, and had your right hand on the stick instead of C-buttons. Only difference is it'll have analog walking/strafing instead of digital. I hate modern console FPS controls (except for the Wii; motion controlled aiming is great in everything I own), so this really annoys me. This isn't like the graphics where in the end they don't really matter; this directly affects me being able to enjoy playing the game.
Edit: Changed 1.1 to 1.2, which I originally meant.

The thing that bugs me is that it would be completely playable for me if they just swapped the sticks on Classic. While I prefer having walking and turning on the same stick, I can play the other way as well, but only when it's on the right stick for some reason. (This is why I loved the TimeSplitters series controls, tons of premade schemes, and they allowed for complete customization. In TS2 you could even customize aiming separately from your normal controls!) I mentioned FPS on the Wii; it's standard to have walking and strafing on the stick, since you use motion controls for turning. Thing is, I'm left-handed, so it's the same thing; I control the stick with my right thumb. This stuff is so ingrained now that I simply can't play the other way. |

Im also rather dissapoint about controls, but it was to be excpected. But most annoying thing that sticks are wrong way for movement and look/turn and probably they can't be customized.
I also really hope that they would allow to change movement to d-pad instead of stick as it does't feel too good to use stick for moving after playing with 1.2 control style for years, but if d-pad could be used for movement it would be something remotely similar to c-buttons for 1.2 but they would be on wrong side of the pad still. : /
Oh and yes Dragonsbrethren TS2 truly had great customization for controls, but unfortunately it's not going to be case here . I also wonder if Stick sensivity can be adjusted for Look/Turn as I just tried PD on emulator with using xbox pad and aiming sensitivty seemed to be very high compared to n64 stick |

Well I also use 1.2 and I find it difficult to aim with right thumb instead of left and also you need to move with different thumb and use stick for it instead of c-buttons :S I find switch of thumbs rather uncomfortable and for some reason also had to turn off Reverse Look although I've used it always in PD & GE just felt so weird |

I think every game should have a good supply of preset control schemes, as well as customizable ones. People are very different creatures. What one person likes, another person doesn't. The thing I love, may be what you hate more than anything else. Giving us the opportunity to setup our own controls can only improve the quality of a game. Here's an example...
Resident Evil: Outbreak = I enjoyed.
Resident Evil: Outbreak, File #2 = I didn't like.
Why? The games are incredibly similar, but the change to control schemes made in File #2 completely alienated the diehard fans of every RE game that'd been released prior to that. As a result, the replay factor went down drastically. If they would've allowed players to customize their controls, I'd have gotten a heck of a lot more enjoyment out of it. _________________

Controls and lack of customizability is what turns me off from TWINE. Recently played it through again and I wish they would have allowed customizing the controls. _________________ 304 HP |

The more I look at it, the more I like it. But...
There's still some weirdness going on with weapons, props and characters. It's like they don't blend in with the environments nicely. Things either stand out as too shiny, or they look extremely dull. Where's the happy medium? _________________
