Ok, so you win the lottery and as the title says go a bit mad. You buy a huge plot of land and decide that you want a full scale exact replica of The Complex from Goldeneye!

Why not?
'er indoors thinks your insane? So what!

Which ones would you have made and why?

I find some of the levels fascinating. This isn't just Goldeneye, I include Perfect Dark but I thought I'd put the thread here.
From Perfect Dark I would love to have the villa recreated. I'd actually like to live there period.

Gorgeous views a great layout.
I think I have gone mad.............help!

I'd also have the music from the game playing constantly throughout various Bose speakers dotted about the levels. It would actually be quite creepy. Imagine a full replica of the Facility, down to the smallest detail.

I guess you'd need people dressed up as guards too?

Well, I always wanted to live in bunker (with a few modificaions).

As for replicas I have just designed facility to work on a level plain, i.e. no stairs, for airsoft.

I hope to have a quick-build and demolish construct that is almost free.

I am using scraps and have an idea using cardboard in consertina form for walls. downside of cource is waterproof-less and weakness for people falling against a wall...

If I had somewhere to have it semi-perminant then obviously id build it tougher.

I would like to have multi-story however this would require permenance but would alow me to use any level.

Complex is so iconic however it is too complex to build for airsoft using my above method...

Well, for some time I thought living in villa would be good, but then I have realized it doesn't have a very habitable layout. It's not very well though from the point of view of actually living in it. It would definitelly need a redesign.

One thing I would find interesting, though, would be making a paintball or lasertag "maze" by replicating GE and PD levels. THAT would be amazing, plus you could make a bussiness out of it Very Happy

A paintball arena based off of any GE map would be great. It'd probably be better going with something from multiplayer, as those are more memorable and easier to construct. Considering participants would be splattering paint everywhere, it wouldn't even need to look perfect. So long as the layout is the same, it'd get the right feeling across.

Personally, I think Complex would probably be best. You might have to build some more railings, like the PD version incorporated, to help prevent people from falling off of certain ledges. Though I do like Library, it is probably too open and bare. The Basement section of it would work really well, though.

Can you actually imagine yourself and about 8 mates playing paintball in a mock set up of the Complex. I'd donate ones of my nads for that.
Well hang on.......

Would a simulator be better though? So that you could actually go around with a super dragon blowing people up. Plus you'd get bloody knackered (and remember I'd only have one left!) running around somewhere like The Complex. You'd have to be really fit.

A fascinating thread even if I say so myself.
One of my favourite multiplayers on Goldeneye was the one which is actually the vast rooms above the Library. Is it called the Stack? (it's been years since I've played multiplyer). Stone interior with green.
Anyway, that with rockets is awesome. Probably best have a simulator for that one

hmm, unfortunatly I never intended my club to be for proffit unless it helped the sport but then Id have to find people that were willing to pay.
Then this brings the permenancy in, it would need to be legal.

I guess ill ask around to see if a farmer wouldnt mind us using a plot.

Complex would be great though, its just, as I said, I cant do it out of card and scrap wood... Sad

Trev

P.S. as for VR, Ive always wanted to play GE/PD in VR so I could run around blowing bots up in a large open space. Onlookers would think I were nuts though Smile

HEHEHE

"i want to live in the carrington villa"

i have heard that so many times now.....

I really hope you strike it rich or something .

then you can make a big video-game level theme park.

for the paintball crowd a bunch of replicas based on GE, PD DUke NUkem DOOM and turok

For the parkour crowds Some good old MArio 64 , banjo and conker places.

I like area 51 , the caves, the aquatic caves and the bunker-

the parke better have a good insurance with lloyds of london though....
and the fastest and best cleanup crew you can get.
the tall areas will be very tricky.
