Well, check this section, its Wii Goldeneye, and Activision published it. So I think that is why. _________________ Also known as Spyster or Nyxem

It's actually fairly good all things considered. If you go in expecting it to be a straight port of the original, you'll hate it of course. If you go in expecting it to be terrible, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. The level design isn't great, but it's not completely linear, you can actually miss objectives, and the acting is pretty good.
The COD-style gameplay actually works better for GoldenEye than it does for COD. Just avoid the multiplayer, didn't find it fun at all. |

Honestly, I think all the COD haters either need to get over it to tell whomever is going "COD is teh best!" to them all the time to get over it. The COD gameplay is fun. It's not the end-all-be-all FPS style portrayed, but it's not abysmal. I loved that Black Ops level where you're essentially in a Russian Death Camp (though I sort of hate Nazi Zombies mode. No difficulty select and you die in 1-2 hits. The Zombies hit fast, and "revives" leave you on the floor. To get hit by zombies. And die in 1-2 hits. And there's no splitscreen coop). Goldeneye Wii is a good game, but it's not Goldeneye and never will be. I went in expecting it to be horrible, and didn't try to hold it to GoldenEye's standard (that's why I like TWINE, Agent Under Fire, and From Russia With Love). Because, let's face it, how many things have we forgotten about:
GoldenEye/Timesplinters/Perfect Dark: Don't make the level go on longer than a darn JRPG.
Chrono Trigger: Replayability. Make you game fun to play more than once.
Perfect Dark/Chrono Trigger: You don't have to shove things down our windpipes. An optional tutorial area is pretty much all we need.
Touhou: You can have a good Bullet Hell shooter without making a damn Alienware lag to death.
In the old days, a dozen people thought up and developed a game; now, a couple of has-beens are in charge of design, completely lacking any sort of connection with the coding. Realizing how easy it would be to, say, tweak your rocket launcher into a grenade launcher is the kind of thing that gets people thinking. But when the damn higher-ups tell you to do A, B, and D, you don't have the room to do C. And when half the damn team leaves for one reason or another, you need to replace them and train the new guys because you're just all way too specialized. Hell, when GoldenEye was finished, half the team made Perfect Dark and the other half made Timesplinters. Now pretty much no one can make an old style FPS game. Everything is to the letter of the design doc. That tank in Runway? Not in the design doc. Those guys were game developers, not just simple programmers/artists/designers. When they got the GoldenEye license, they went "we can do something cool with this", not "this will sell pretty well".
I forgot what I was talking about. My thoughts were scattered to begin with, and my sister wouldn't leave me alone. To summarize:
COD doesn't suck
GEWii is COD, not GE64
GE64 was made with love (like Touhou) |

Multi's trash, one player's still good enough. I mean it's aged better than most Bond shooters since Goldeneye. I don't even play any of the others anymore. Played GEwii last month. That's a record.
Yes, it is a new game. No it's not a remake of the N64 game. It's a remake of the movie.
"Oh yea??questionmark" is not a comeback. If you can't disprove his points with logic, you've lost the argument. |

I'm the opposite. i thought the single player was ehh, but I really enjoy playing multiplayer. The only problem I have with the multiplayer is it's a little glitchy and some of the maps are mediocre. _________________ 304 HP |
