Oh, well my TV flashes a white line when I turn on my N64, but there is no broken up gameshark menu or anything of the sort. Also, most importantly, the Gameshark "8" LED will not count down like it is supposed to. _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. Great, I'm glad that the game worked for you. I know some GameShark's can be awfully finicky, taking both time and patience to get them going. I have to use a Q-Tip nearly every time I want to use mine. _________________

I cleaned it like Wreck, said, and tried out inserting and booting my games one by one, after trying it with Cruisin' World. In the end I tried Cruisin' World again, and it booted the gameshark, after I cleaned the gameshark with my legitimate N64 cleaning solution. You can bet I will be hacking Goldeneye and Mario 64 to the tee now, baby! Also, I have another gameshark, it will run when I piggyback it on my working one. But it's corrupted. I scroll down in the cheat menu and when I get to Mario 64 the Gameshark freezes. _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. Ah good.
Cleaning should be one of the first things you try when it comes to non working electronics, not only gamesharks, specially when there are interconnection points involved, such as cartridges and slots.
It was really cunning for Wreck to suggest that. To me it is so natural that I didn't even think of it. Not that I dismissed it as being unnecessary to mention it, I just didn't even think of it |

Ah yes, I know what you mean, radorn. Well, actually my other Gameshark runs just fine but it still will freeze, now not even able to access the cheat menu. When I press A to go into "Select Cheat Codes" it freezes. But it runs to the main menu, with the scrolling and stuff. This means I can connect it through parallel port to PC and reinstall the firmware or fix it yes? _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. I'd say yes, but that only an educated guess.
My action replay died, I tried to boot it time after time, and once, just once, it booted, but I entered the cheat menu and it froze, and after that it would not boot anymore, so I could not verify if an update would have saved it.
From that experience, my recommendation is you stop toying arround and risk making it worse and try to perform the update while it still boots into the menu!
good luck |

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that has to try to get the GS to work like 10 times. |
