Removing portions of briefings that don't have anything to do with a certain difficulty level may be harder than first thought. In some missions, Q only references objectives from Secret or 00 Agent. The first Bunker mission is a good example of this. In it, he talks strictly about using the Data Thief device to download the information from a computer mainframe. That doesn't leave him with anything else to say. _________________

We could simply leave Q out of that briefing, but I'm not sure I want to go that route. Provided we can mimic the style of the original (and I think we can, easily), it might be a good idea to add a line about the camera and key analyzer there. Tack it onto the list of improvements.
This is only loosely related, but it has to do with the aesthetics of these briefings so it's worth bringing up. Have PD's fonts been looked into at all, and do they use the same format as GE? I'm wondering if we could port GE's menu font over to replace the one PD uses in the in-mission menu. Since it has small caps instead of actual lowercase letters, we might want to go with all lowercase briefings except for the headings and such, like GE did in the watch menu. For now I'll format them assuming they'll appear in PD as it is now (since automatically swapping them to all lowercase only takes a few seconds). |
