I think it's quite popular, but there were probably some gamers who overlooked it. You'd have to do some checking around. It was that attempt at the silent hero thing. It worked because everyone else did the talking for him. The website for it could tell you more.

I have played Chrono Trigger on emulators, for the snes. I have also played the playstation version of it. both are pretty good... i never played all the way through, however.
