Knives, mines and hand grenades are tossed from off screen. I'm guessing they didn't need to use the same sort of setup, as none of them have a firing mother weapon. Only the throwing knives even have a first-person model, as well.
I think the difference with a launcher is that you're holding one weapon and firing a separate projectile from it. You can't fire a rocket launcher ID, as that would simply toss out a collectible launcher onto the floor. Instead, you shoot a different weapon ID out into the level. One that is designed to look and move like the launching weapon's ammunition (be it a rocket shell or a grenade round). I believe I've seen similar weapon ID's for Perfect Dark, even for the Slayer and Big King Rocket (King Skedar sceptor). _________________

Sorry if this was already asked. What would happen if a guard was given the "null" weapon, but you activate the floating projectile glitch before killing him? Would it still explode when he hits the ground? |
