There are certain things I like about Halo, and other things I enjoy more out of Halo 2. This is all based off of my Campaign play, not multiplayer mode. The stages in the original are very repetitive, using what appears to be identical rooms around ever corner. You also tend to revisit the same areas over and over again, running back and fourth to reach your destination. In Halo 2, it didn't feel anywhere near as bad. They managed to create large environments with minimal copycat locations. Sure, some hallways look the same, but the construction of the buildings need consistency. I also thought that the details were a little sharper in the second entry into the series. The variety of weapons between the games is decent, but not great. Controls were enhanced in Halo 2, making the moving and sighting blend together more smoothly. I also found that the vehicles were easier to navigate in part two. I'm much more into the storyline than anything else, so the cinematics and narration in the second Halo was a warm welcome. The ability to play as another character was a lot of fun, especially with his personal skills and weaponry. Overall, I'm far more interested in playing through Halo 2 again. That is, if the game doesn't keep crashing my Xbox 360. _________________

Wreck makes alot of good points. There are good and bad things to each game. But both are still really fun to play. I definatley enjoy the gameplay in Halo 2 alot more, but the story was horrible. Halo 1 had an awsome story, and great level layout. For me at least. They were easy to get lost in like Wreck had said, but I personally enjoyed having to find your way through a level. I've always been that way. I just hope they take the best of both, and make an awsome Halo 3. _________________ "Inspiration strikes but once.. If you're forgetful, carry a pen." -Me |

I was right, it is playable and I could get use to it in time. May take me a while to love it, but with a little more work it should work. _________________ A.K.A. Greatermaxim on youtube.

WHen you were talking about seeing if it was playable, were you talking about Halo in general, or about Halo 2. Personally, I loved Halo 2 just about as much as I did Halo 1. Halo 2 may have lacked the origional pistol, but there were plenty of other weapon choices. The only real complaint I have about it (and I'll never get over this one) is the stupid story line. (five other halos! WTF?) _________________ "Inspiration strikes but once.. If you're forgetful, carry a pen." -Me |
