I came across that a while ago, but I suspect that that pot is focus (which is actually quite common in analogue drives) and I've already tweaked that up to the point were pretty much everything that should play, does play.

So this comes back to "I've probably not burnt it correctly" which might result in me doing a hard-drive mod out of frustration and wasted CDs. At the moment I've also been beating my face against RetroPie and trying to get things to work - the latest 3.0 build isn't fully complete or calibrated it'd seem.

Thanks for the heads up there! It's great to see that there are some other tech-minded people on this forum!
