As you've mentioned once before, a game will eventually grow to be far too long to be enjoyable. Resident Evil 4 was incredibly long. I thought it was almost over numerous times, only to find out that I had plenty more to go. Not that I mind, because you definitely get your money's worth. However, replay factor is harder to offer. They did a pretty good job with RE4, though. You could unlock extra weapons by completing it on different difficulty settings, as well as keep the points you had at the end of the last round and use them for the next. Those two things added some excitement, but not a lot. The game itself was beautiful, in a sick sort of way. Graphics and control were amazing. That can draw you back for more. But how much more? When there is only a single path you can take, you feel as though you're repeating yourself over and over. This might be the way most games are played, but even RE3: Nemesis offered different methods to get out of a situation, which would impact what happens either immediately or later on. Choosing the order of events, which item to obtain in first, also effected certain outcomes. You'll also face different enemies that are randomly selected at specific locations. To me, that's all very fetching. I've had to have beaten that game fifteen or more times, just to see all of the outcomes and access the epilogue files. I shouldn't keep rambling about the RE series, but I should also mention RE2. Four seperate scenarios, be them similar in nature. Bonus weapons and costumes even help extend the life of the game. It's my favourite of the series for reasons including those. For me, it's a mix between gameplay and storyline. Toss in some special weapons, characters, costumes, scenarios, event changes, mini-games and other cool unlockables like galleries and music, then you've got my interest.

i was for of a REmake fan. RE4 was amazing but it kind of strayed away from the origins (less scary, not as much conservation). but its new formula was executed very well even though its an "A to Z adventure game."
