I bought a Dell B110 that has 512mb of memory. What I am confused about is that there is 512mb in my freinds phone. Am I missing something?

The 512MB in the phone is probably hard storage space. The 512 MB in the PC is RAM.

Yes! Thank you for putting it in terms I can understand. For as much as I use computers, I am completley incompetent to the way they work. Confused

This is an older Forum, but hopefully you don't have that 512MB computer anymore.

I mean, like, as a spare computer, I bought a 256MB computer at a garage sale. It was SO slow! My current computer is good and has 3 GB ^_^

Anyways, hopefully you have upgraded by now ^_^

Does anyone know if 1.5GB ram is ok for the editor? If you have no other programs running? Because I'm thinking of upgrading a whole load of stuff.

256 GB is just fine for the editor. Any RAM will do.

yea i'd say 256GB is nearly good enough for editor, but i'd suggest to go for 300GB just to be sure

I have a one terabyte hard disk drive (H.D.D.) and four gigabytes of Random Access Memory (R.A.M.). I also have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and an Intel Core i5 Central Processing Unit (C.P.U.) with the stock fan, heat sink, and Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound. My Graphics Processing Unit (G.P.U.) is an NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT. My computer case is a Micro ATX (motherboard form factor) Rosewill black, steel case. I have an ASUS DVD burner installed in my computer and it's all SATA cables! Jealous? Twisted Evil

I'd say it pretty much just depends on your OS if you got Win XP (or older) then its more than enough, but for Vista and 7 1.5GB RAM is just torture
