What is the error message? Is your ROM larger than 12 meg?

no. what is the best way to patch the level changes and then attach it into the ROM? I'm trying to get a modified Egyptian level into PJ64 and it doesn't seem to be changed and show any objects.

The easiest way is using quick convert (setting the ROM source in preferences, opening egypt, choosing quick convert level as usetupcrypz.bin, then hitting F5 in main window. Another way is Tools -> Convert ROM, then choose usetupcrypz.bin (that must be your filename), and then write ROM. Or you could use the bottom combobox and choose usetupcrypz.bin and then choose your egypt file and patch ROM.

IPS is only to be used *after* you do all that to generate patches. Or if someone provides it for you to apply.
