Perfect Dark is probably my favorite FPS of all time (, I only like a few), and I found this place after seeing Krijy's level hacking doc and following some links.

I have quite a bit of experience with hacking games, mostly SNES stuff. I'm pretty good at making cheats, and I like to think I'm really good at implementing things with minimal resources (ie: cheats). I feel that, because there is so much content in the original game of Perfect Dark, there are many possibilities to make more. Enough about me...

When I used to play the game on multiplayer mode on my N64, I remember getting an RC-P120 and filling up my ammo/reserves and switching to another SMG weapon. I then realized my ammo reserves were higher than the max... I decided to implement a ammo capacity increaser. Check this out.

Yeah, it's not very good at describing what goes on, but hey...


This particular one is for assault rifle ammo. To use it, just get the item and take it out when you feel like stockpiling. Get all the ammo boxes you see and keep reloading. If you keep putting ammo in the box, you'll eventually start getting in the thousands. Then break out your assault rifle and spray, with no fear of running out of ammo.

(A lot of this code is renaming stuff)

Callisto SXL (Replaces Callisto NTG, uses an edited short range stream function):

This is a larger and more powerful version of the Callisto NTG, amagine an assault rifle version (But it still uses SMG bullets) of the original. It features a huge magazine, a more powerful
rapid fire shot, and a tractor beam; which knocks weapons out of people's hands from a relatively long distance, and also disorientates them.

(Again, most of this code is renaming stuff)

The Callisto SXL is probably done, but the ammo box is definately not. I'll try to make one for every type of ammo, and in my opinion, we need one for rockets.

Automatic Shotgun (Replaces shotgun, but uses edited functions from the sniper rifle and the ZZT):

No screenshot could show any difference from the original.

Instead of the old style pump-shotgun, you can use this automatic one. It features a larger, 14 shell magazine, and normal shot and rapid fire functions. The rapid fire function has two drawbacks; It is sometimes difficult to manage with the small magazine and each individual shot is weaker than normal.

A good technique with this one is to come into a firefight with the rapid fire on, you can take care of a majority of everyone if they're close enough. You'll run out quickly, so take cover and reload about 4 or 5 rounds and come back out with the single shot function on, then clean up.

Fine, take off the Hand Remover code. See what happens.

And some of those codes came from my resource, which never seemed to be noticed in this topic! And saying you can remove the hand remover codes after I told many times in my code topic "If you remove it graphics will come to a glitch" really irritates me to tell you the truth. Thanks for the gratification.

EDITED: Now I tried the weapons, since I have a heart of silver, I'll guess I'll do some nice things.

The STAmmobox has a similar problem to the name changer code where it will not work if you restart, it will freeze. Also the gun doesn't fire in my emulator, so I'm not sure what is the problem with this thing. But you did say it is in testing.

The Callisto SXL is overall good. I like Callisto. Disarm with tractor beam and finish the opponent off with rapid fire.

Automatic shotgun is good too. Though when you use rapid fire all of your ammo, it can be a pain waiting it to reload. Just to say.

My messages you find disappointing or negative shouldn't get to your head, I'm just telling what I think. I still want other people to keep Perfect Dark alive, it's that, it's kind of hard to me to watch it.

Sorry.

I give you credit for everything I took (the no hands code is the only thing that is just the way you had it, I think). Though, I think this community seems to be open source; I just figured I'd borrow stuff like the no hands code and pass it along that way. If there's anything in particular you want me to change, I will gladly.

The STAmmoBox is supposed to be an ammo storage item. You pick one up and collect the kind of ammo that goes in it. Keep putting it into the box by reloading. It shouldn't be able to shoot (the biggest problem is with sims being able to shoot with it. Although, they won't if they get anything better it seems.) The name should be something like, "Assault Rifle Ammo Box" But there obviously isn't enough room. If you have a gun that pees out ammo like there's no tomorrow, put a box in the same game and use it to hold more.

Speaking of emulator, is there a good N64 emu with a debugger? NEmu seems to crash when you try to load a combat simulator game.

An N64 Emulator? Try Project64.

If you have any errors, try searching for extensions or files on their forums. Even though there's hardly on this emulator.

Also, the STAmmobox makes sense. And the crosshairs you don't like, try setting the zoom to normal with codes.

About the opened source thing...

I'm not sure if the community is open-source, but it probably is. I didn't mean to say you have to put credits or something, it's that you read tons of FAQs and directions but you didn't read about the No Hands code acquirement. So I got annoyed, so sorry too.

Also, since you got AIM, if you ever get online..My AIM screen name is spiJirachi. I would like to contact you and learn about plans for coding Perfect Dark.
